Hello Valued Resident!

We have received your work request regarding your disposal and we would like to encourage you to try these few easy fixes before we send someone out.  We do this to avoid a possible expensive chargeback to you as most disposal problems are from user negligence, even if by accident!  Please know we will not send for repairs until you have responded that you have tried these repairs.  We will be sending you a text as well.

1) First, try all of the switches along the kitchen counters first.  You never know which one controls it!

2) Next, look up under the disposal for a small reset button (usually red) and push it in, then try the switches again.

3) You can use a disposal wrench that are available for a few dollars at any big box store.  Please try using this to rotate blades until it turns freely and try reset button again.

4) Lastly, check your breaker panel.  Usually in the garage, but sometimes it is outside.  Look and see if any of the breakers look tripped.  This one will be a small breaker marked 15 or 20 amp.  The disposal may also be on a GFCI protected circuit that is within a plug designed to protect wet areas.  If you have tried all of these steps and you don’t get any sound from the disposal it could be a GFCI plug that has tripped.

If none of these steps work, please let us know so we can dispatch someone to repair this for you, but please be aware that if our technician finds that you overlooked one of these steps you may be responsible for payment of the service call.  Let us know if you still need us to send someone out.  Thank you and good luck!

Thank you,

Management Team
